The Moonlight Coalition received a $1,000 LCI grant to help purchase Fire tablets for use in its GED study program. Syamala Srinivasan has created a Math module that will be installed on all of the tablets assisting students in the learning process. The module is unique in its approach to complicated topics and makes the information readily accessible to individuals that would not be otherwise able to access the required information. The Peoria area is home to approximately 13,000 individuals that do not have a high school diploma. The tablet program is scalable and can be applied to other required modules such as Language Arts and Science making it a vehicle for assisting this growing population.
