Adult Transition GED Program
Approximately 41% of jail inmates do not have a high school diploma or equivalency – increasing capacity through literacy, math, vocational training and attainment of GED is critical for them to become employed after incarceration. Increasing GED completions for incarcerated students will decrease recidivism and reduce costs of incarceration for our community. GED programming at Peoria County Jail and the Peoria Adult Transition Center provides inmates/students with opportunities to reach goals.
